From the research center we went to Sietsema Farms who manufactures their own feed for over 150,00 turkeys and hogs they raise. They utilize the turkey liter to generate electricity and steam to power their feed mill.
The Ravenna FFA Chapter hosted lunch. They prepared pork loin, prime rib, beans and potato salad for the FFA Alumni. The blueberry pie served came from Jawor Blueberry Farms, which was our next stop.
Jawor Blueberry farms produces enough berries to be shipped to the east coast to stores such as Costco, Sam’s and other warehouse club stores. We then made a quick stop in Grand Haven at Grimadis Chocolate.
The last stop of the day was for supper at Ceder Spring High School. Their officer team and advisor welcomed us and made us feel right home. They have something special in that chapter, and their alumni support them to ensure the continuation of this gift.
